My Other Hobby - Cardboard Creations

I love to create a lot of useful stuff out of what we may very often think is of no use. And after coming to USA where a lot of importance is given to recycling, I just wondered how it would be to recycle your furniture... So I started making these great things using Cardboard. 

I got this idea being inspired by my father who is a genius in making great things out of nothing and he puts a lot of effort in making them perfect too. I am sure he would have done a better job than me if he were in my place!

So now lets visit my creations!

Playhouse

Features/ Highlights

• It is a playhouse with a door in the front and open at the back. The door has a magnetic latch.
• It has an activity board on one of the side where the children can draw and color.
• On the back side, there is a table for the kids to read/write/play on. Outside the house, the table serves as a garage for the toy wagon / train / cars.
• Inside the house, there is a shelf to arrange the miniature toys. It also has a small bookshelf.
• The roof outside is a colored tile roof and on the inside it is a black sky with stars on it. It also has a chimney on the top.
• The floor of the playhouse is covered with a rug stitched from turkish towels.

Puja Altar

Features/ Highlights

• The Doors are carved with diamond holes and there is provision to hang the bells on the doors.
• There is a light with a switch inside the main Altar on top.
• It has a lot of space on the sides to keep the Puja items that are used often.
• A hidden space is provided on one side to keep the rarely used items or surplus items.
• It has an elevated place for the lamp outside the main altar to avoid any oil spills or accidents in the main alter while lighting the lamp. 
• The bottom portion of the Altar is covered with waterproof paper so that no spills will affect the cardboard and also it is easy to clean.

Laptop Desk

Features/ Highlights

• It has a covered storage shelf that can be used to keep all the electronic stuff/ books.
• It is covered with waterproof paper to prevent damage to the cardboard and for easy cleaning in case of any spills.
• The top part of the desk is a separate piece and can be removed (Not easily though)and adjusted for height.
• It is easily expandable. In case we buy a printer, another shelf can be added on the side for it to sit!

Book Shelf

• It is easily expandable too. We can add any number of shelves on top till we can reach of course!

Shoe Stand

• It is covered with waterproof paper for easy cleaning of the dirt.
• It is expandable too. More shelves can be added to accommodate more shoes!

• It is very spacious for my daughter and she likes to curl up on that and rest after her hectic day!
• It is strong enough to withstand her standing and jumping too!
